A Big day for the box office today as we come across a Female oriented movie named Akira. This is the Bollywood version of a tamil Movie “Mouna Guru”. Direction and screenplay by A.R.Murgadoss, Story by Kumar Santha and Dialouges by Karan Singh Rathore.
The Cast inclueds Sonakshi Sinha, Konkona Sen, Anurag Kashyap, Amit Kulkarni , Amit Sadh, Raai Laxmi. The plot is as follows, Small child Akira encounters a terrible incident where she sees some thugs throwing acid on the face of a girl. Akira atthat moment was brave enough to become a witness and get that victim justice. Later those thugs start targetting her. It is then her father Amit Kulkarni takes her to a martial arts school and lets her train. It is then she comes in the charectar of Akira created by A.R.Murgadoss.
After her father`s death the grown up Akira that is to say Sonakshi Sinha comes to Mumbai at her brother`s place. There she gets entangled into a controversial scenario which involves a cash scam, a MMS scandal and a fake encounter. So what happens to Akira?…what does the cops do to her?..how does she land up in a mental asylum?..and what happens in the end?..All the answers to the questions are buried inside the mvie and as usual you have to go out and watch it. Because I am not gonna give you the entire story. I will just give a review on the film
Now looking at the movie from my perception, this is a action movie. And the dialogues and the scenes blend in accordingly. But somewhere I feel that the Director has somewhat failed to get some pace and sharpness in the film. The cinematogrphy is good . and what I feel is Sonakshi Sinha will be capable enough to estabilish herself as a Action actress although there was nothing new in her expressions at several points and at some instances her expressions will remind you of Dabangg and Dabangg 2. Anurag Kashayp gae a very good performance on screen as he plays a bad cop. The work of Konkona se cannot be forgotten , not everyone can play a pregnentinvestigating cop and do full justice to the charectar. Overall I would say the movie is a one time watch. And I would give 2.5 stars out of 5.
