102 NOT OUT is released today on box office. Directed by Umesh Shukla, the main star cast includes Amitabh Bacchan, Rishi Kapoor and Jimit Trivedi. This film is based on Gujrati play by Saumya Joshi.
The plot of the film is based on a son and his father, 75 years and 102 years old respectively. You must have heard that sons leave their parents in the old age home, however in this film the father, Dattatreya Vakhariya ( played by Amitabh Bacchan ) decides to leave his son Babulaal (played by Rishi Kapoor) in the old age home. But Babulaal doesn’t want to got there. Then, Dattatreya keeps some promises before him to be fulfiled. He tells Babulal that if he keeps them, then he might be saved from going old age home.
Was Babulal saved from going to old age home? Why Dattatreya wants to send his son there? To know all this you will have to watch the film.
Let’s talk more on my point of view over the film. The screenplay is better and the Direction by Umesh Shukla is also good. The film could have been more entertaining. On one hand Umesh Shukla has given us a great film like ‘Oh My God’, however on the other hand a flop film like ‘all is well’ is also there in his kitty. Talking about the performances, both Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bacchan are polished actors and they have delivered stupendous performance. Big B has beautifully performed the character of 102 years old father. Jimi Trivedi was also good.
Cinematography of the film is also nice. Though songs and music is not emphasized here.
Here comes my final verdict about the film. This is an entertaining comedy film with appreciable dialogues. The film is spreading a social message that parents should not be emotionally blackmailed by their children. They should not become the puppets of their kids. All parents must watch this film. It is a family drama without any female character.
My rating to 102 NOT OUT is 3 out of 5.
