A good news for all the 70s, 80s and 90s kids out there, it’s time to walk down memory lane. As Doordarshan channel is all set to revive several other cult shows and re-air them. A few days ago, the news about Shah Rukh Khan starrer cult show, ‘Circus’ being re-aired hit the web.
Director General of Doordarshan Supriya Sahu mentioned that iconic shows like ‘Buniyaad’, ‘Malgudi Days’, ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’, ‘Hum Log’, to name a few, will be re-aired. Supriya added further that they have been receiving several requests for re-runs of these iconic shows.
While they are working on a makeshift for the channel by showcasing fresh content, at the same time, they also want the viewers to relive and witness the glorious past of the television.
Malgudi Days: A TV series based on the work of cartoonist, R.K. Laxman. The story revolves around little Swami and his friends. They used to despite school and roamed the streets of Malgudi.
Hum Log: Whenever our elders talk about TV serials they never forget to mention serials like Hum Long and many others. A tale of an Indian middle-class family of 80s, their daily aspirations, struggles, it was the first drama to be aired on Indian TV.
Buniyaad: Another cult show, which is based on 1947 partition will soon be re-aired on DD. The show cast is full of talented actors and we already got excited to watch them again.
Wagle Ki Duniya: The unforgettable series which is about everyday struggle of a nervous sales clerk, who lived with the prudence of a middle-class person. The show is based on the characters created by legendary R.K. Laxman.
Circus: Also known as Shah Rukh Khan’s television show, Circus was aired in the late 80s where King Khan played the character of a Malayalee circus owner. The drama surrounded around all the people who worked in the circus make it more interesting.
