Today’s box office release is Jagga Jasoos, written and directed by Anurag Basu, produced by Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor and features Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in the lead role. The makers have tried to link the film with Puralia Arm Drop case and as the title suggest it is a spy movie. But it seems that the screenplay has been written by kids keeping in their mind, and due to the screenplay and concept the movie has been completely shattered.
Ranbir Kapoor who plays Jagga has been interested in espion since childhood. But he stammers, for which his father advises him to sing to avoid stutter and whenever he sings to speak he doesn’t stoop. I don’t know whether this method works in real life or not. But using this technique Ranbir use singing to delivers his words throughout the film, which drags the film and director Anurag Basu has been unable to handle it.
Overall the screenplay and direction of the movie failed to impress. If we talk about acting, Ranbir’s performance is good but from a quite long time, he hasn’t seen any success at the box office. Everyone is aware of his performance and success of the films like Rockstar and Barfi but after these movies, he didn’t get a wonderful success.
Katrina’s acting was fine, there is nothing special for her to do in the film. Saswata Chatterjee played the role of Jagga’s father and did a wonderful job and Saurabh Shukla also gave fine performance. Music is given by Pritam to this musical film and it seems that Disney has made the movie for children.
The cinematography of the film is excellent, Ravi Verma has given a thorough introduction of his ability. He has taken many beautiful shots, the location will leave you spell bound and make you want to visit there once.
In the climax of the film, it has shown that Jagga had just gone there to find his father and even this is the base plot of the film. They include the incident of the weapons that were dropped in Purulia and then leaving it untold, makes the film more vulnerable. Saurabh Shukla aka Sinha’s gang story was also left untold, all this makes the film weak technically.
Overall, in my opinion, Jagga Jasoos is a big flop, it is not even a one time watch. So save your time and Money, and my rating to this film is 1.5 out of 5. Keep watching my channel for the unbiased movie review.
