Hey Friends, I Renuka have brought with me the coming week’s Bollywood release Love Sonia. It is a thriller based on true and real life events. Directed by tabrez nuraani the main star cast of Love Sonia includes Mrinal Thakur, Manoj Bajpayee, Riya shishodia, Anupam Kher, Richa Chadha and Rajkumar Rao.
The plot of the film is based on the two main issues of the society- one the bad economical condition of the farmers and the other sexual trafficking of girls.
We all know that the movies are the mirror of the society. Love Sonia has been very well directed by Tabrez who has made this film a mirror of the black face of our society. How the farmers are suffering because of their poor economical condition that they r compelled to even sell their children to pay off the loans to the moneylenders … how the small innocent girls are sold and bought by the brothels and then how brutally they are being treated,… is shown in the film. All such crime is not only limited to India but in other countries also. The director has shown that the girls are made to travel like a luggage , drugged , abused and sexually assaulted inhumanly. There has been inhuman behaviour shown with them.
Screenplay of the film wouldn’t let you leave your seats during the film. The film has been dragged a little though. Some of the scenes have been picturised so well that they shake you from inside completely and you are frozen to the seats.
Awesome Cinematography of the film. The camera gave us the natural feel of the real places shown.
Talking about the performances, the title character Sonia is played by Mrinal Thakur and she has proved to be very promising debut in Bollywood. For Richa Chadha this was her best performance till date. Anupam Kher and Manoj Bajpayee are very polished actors and they are shining in the negative roles. All the other characters also did complete justice with their roles.
These kind of films might not do well commercially on the box office, but the truth shown in the film gives you goosebumps and would definitely tremble you internally.
