After portraying the role of Lord Shiva in Life OK’s popular mythology television series ‘Devon Ke Dev… Mahadev’, actor Mohit Raina is loaded with many offers of the same kind. The actor who was last seen playing King Ashoka in Colors popular show ‘Chakravatin Ashok Samrat’, is all set to be the part of an upcoming historical show.
A few days back, rumours were floating that the actor might reprise his role in the second season of ‘Deveon Ke Dev… Mahadev’ to be produced by Nikhil Sinha. Now as per latest reports, it is to be said that producer Abhimanyu Singh who has made the maximum of historical shows on TV is planning to rope in Raina for his upcoming show based on ‘Battle of Saragarhi’.
According to a report in TOI, Mohit Raina is being chosen for the role of Ishar Singh who successfully led the 36th regiment of British Indian Army. Both Mohit and Abhimanyu did not comment anything about the project. As we told you that this show will be based on the Battle of Saragarhi that was fought on September 12, 1897, in North-West Frontier Province.
The Sikh military personnel who were 21 in number fought with 10,000 Afghan Orakzai tribesman. They chose to die than surrender. It is considered as one of the greatest battles in Indian history.
Indeed it was one of the greatest battles in Indian history because both television industry and Bollywood wants to showcase the story. There is also abuzz that Randeep Hooda is playing the role of Havildar Ishar Singh in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Battle of Saragarhi while Ajay Devgn is also planning a film on the same titled Sons of Sardaar: Battle of Saragarhi. Even Salman Khan and Karan Johar plan to collaborate and make a film on this subject with Akshay Kumar playing the lead role.
It really looks that there is a great interest in bringing this thrilling story before the world. Now we have to see that who will be the first person to tell us the story of ‘Battle of Saragarhi’.
