Raag Desh is an upcoming periodic drama film based on the Indian National Army set up by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and the war to liberate India that was fought on the shores of the Irrawaddy in Burma.
The film stars Kunal Kapoor, Amit Sadh and Mohit Marwah in the lead roles, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. And recently the official trailer of the film, which unfolds the historic Red Fort trails. The trailer of the movie was launched in Parliament, presented by Rajya Sabha TV.
The makers of the film used great market strategies to launch the trailer. The trailer has everything nice to show, Kunal’s different shade, Mohit’s applause worthy dialogue delivery and Amit was seen upping his game with the film. We can hear Netaji’s quote ‘Tum Mujhe Khoon Do Main Tumhe Azadi Doonga’ and the trailer ends with the song ‘Qadam Qadam Badaye Ja’.
The film revolves around the time when Subhash Chandra Bose fighting on own for the freedom of the country. The story’s base plot is about first trail of Shah Nawaz Khan, Gurubaksh Singh Dhillon and Prem Sahgal, which was held between November and December 1945 against the backdrop of general elections in India with the Attorney General of India Noshirwan P. Engineer as the chief prosecutor and two dozen counsel for the defence, led by Sir Tej Bahadur Sapru.
All three of the accused were charged with waging war against the king contrary to section 121 of the Indian Penal Code’. In addition, charges of murder were leveled against Dhillon and of abetment to murder against Khan and Sahgal. The defendants came from three different religions – one Hindu, one Sikh, and one Muslim – but all three elected to be defended by the defense committee set up by the Indian National Congress.
The British called the soldiers of the INA (Indian National Army) renegades and Japanese stooges and a trail was held at the Red Fort in Delhi that was called Red Fort Trails of 1945. The films bring to life that epic trail that paved the way for India’s Freedom and those meteoric times.
The film is slated to release on July 28.
