After the ban on Pakistani artistes in Bollywood post, the Uri attacks subsiding. Artists belonging to two nations have been teaming up for projects. The cultural ties between India and Pakistan seem to be inching towards normalcy. The latest artist to join cross-border collaboration is everyone favourite Atif Aslam.
This Pakistani singer has lent his voice to a song in the upcoming Irrfan Khan’s movie ‘Hindi Medium’. In the movie Pakistani actress Saba Qamar is playing the lead role alongside Irrfan Khan, the movie also marks her Bollywood debut.
The singer gave his voice for Hoor, which was shot last month in Georgia. Atif says he wanted to sing the romantic number, ever since he heard the rough sketch. He said, “Bollywood has always given me a lot of love.”
Atif Aslam says that Indian fans always appreciated him and he hopes they love his new song as well. The actor also worked with Dinesh Vijan, producer of Hindi Medium, in 2015 released movie Badlapur.
When asked more about the song he said, “It was an amazing experience. Hoor portrays the journey of a couple’s growth in love. Composers Sachin-Jigar always surprise me with their talent.”
Atif Aslam feels kicked about singing a love song picturised on Irrfan. He said, “It is pretty unusual for him [to feature in a love track]. I am excited that I am lending my voice [to him].”
It great that we can hear Atif’s voice again in this brand new and beautiful song ‘Hoor’ from ‘Hindi Medium’, and the movie is slated to release on May 12.
