Today, on 9th June, Raabta came out of all legal cliches and released at the box office. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Bhushan Kumar, and Homi Adajania and it is a directorial debut of Dinesh Vijan. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Kriti Sanon and Jim Sarbh in lead roles.
The plot of the film is based on the concept of reincarnation, in which there is love triangle both in the previous birth and present birth. In the previous birth there were two chiefs of two different clans who fell in love with the daughter of another clan’s chief, but all three dies.
In this birth also, the destiny brings all of them at one place from different-different places. Shiv played by Sushant Singh Rajput fell in love with Saira plays by Kriti Sanon and Zakir Merchant (Jim Sarabha) wants to get Saira as well because in the previous birth he couldn’t have her.
So, what was the reason that Saira could not be with Zakir in previous birth? How three of them died in previous birth? What is the reason? Do all three dies in this birth as well? Or anyone of them can get Saira? To know the answer to all these questions, you will have to watch the film because I am not here to tell the story of the movie, I am here to review it.
Now let’s see the movie from my perspective. The plot of the film is really beautiful but the screenplay is constrained. Dinesh Vijan has failed in his debut direction and the first half is unbearable. There should be a consolation prize for all the viewers who watched the first half of the film, the second half is still better which reminds me of ‘Mirzaya’.
If we talk about acting, so I quite like Sushant and Kriti’s performance and Jim Sarbh has not done anything special. Sushant’s both the characters are different in the film. He did well as Shiv of present birth, which is its kind of his routine character. But the character of his previous birth, in which he tries to do something different and also became successful.
Music and songs of the film are okay and background score is good. The cinematography of the film is also good and the location is beautiful. But the same location of Budapest has been tried to show repeatedly.
There is a scene which is completely out of my understanding and if you see this movie, you can explain that to me. On one side, Saira is kept confined to an island and they tried to show that it is impossible to escape from there, but Saira still comes out swimming twice.
Now it comes to my verdict, according to me, the decision to not to see this movie can be good for you as you can save both your time and money by not seeing this movie. My rating to Raabta is 1.5 out of 5.
Still, it is your decision to watch the movie, if you watch this movie so do write your views in the comment section below. Hope you liked my review and will be back soon next week with another movie review, till then take care and don’t forget to like, share, comment and subscribe to my channel.
