The much awaited movie is released today, Rangoon which is the second war based movie of February month after the last week’s release The Ghazi Attack. There was no romance quotient in The Ghazi attack but in Rangoon there is a love triangle between Saif Ali Khan, Kangana Ranaut and Shahid Kapoor.
Rangoon is directed by Vishal Bharadwaj, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Viacom 18 and Vishal Bharadwaj and written by Mathew Robbins and Vishal Bharadwaj. This is a period film set against the backdrop of World War II.
In this film the makers portray Bollywood’s first stunt woman Mary Evans Wadia, has been showcased in India’s independence struggle and conflict. Kangana Ranaut played the character of stunt actress Julia, Shahid Kapoor portrayed the character of Captain Nawab, who helped Azad Hind Fauj in spite being part of British Army and Saif Ali Khan played the character of Russian Billimoria who is a Bollywood producer.
Now let’s see the movie from my perspective. Vishal Bhardawaj beautifully captured and portrayed the essence of love, romance, war, love triangle and glamour on silver screen. But the screenplay was bit week, due to which 166 minutes film become a bit lengthy and there were several drags. The movie will definitely do better if the duration of the movie was bit short.
If we talk about characters and acting, everyone’s was too good especially Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut. Cinematography is commendable, Pankaj captured the location so lively that it will make you think to go to Arunachal for your next trip.
Music is in typical Vishal Bharadwaj’s style and everyone should watch this movie at least once, not because the movie is good and entertaining, because this movie will enhance your knowledge about Bollywood and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s Azad Hind Fauj. My rating for this movie is 3 out of 5.
Hope you liked my review and will be back soon next week with another movie review, till then take care and don’t forget to like, share, comment and subscribe to my channel.
