11th Novenber 2016, the release date of Rock on 2. The Farhan Akhtar , Arjun Rampal , Pooja Kohli starrer musical drama Film is a sequel to Rock on which was released in 2008. Which increases the curiosity that will this movie be successful to in standing out on people`s expectations.
Presenting old wine in a new bottle, that’s what has been done in this film.This movie brings in two new faces , Shraddha Kapoor and Shashank Arora. The plot of this film is as follows…. Adi that is to say Farhan Akhtar holds himself responsble for Rahul`s suicide and to repent on this he leaves Bombay and reaches Shillong. There hebuilds a school for kids, forms a co-operative society for kids. He indulges into such activites probably to save himself from the burden of guilt in his heart.
On Adi`s birthday Purab Kohli, Arjun Rampal and Prachi Desai drop down in Shillong to surprise him. There Purab Kohli yanks him with a motive of starting the old band again. KD has in mind that Joe owns and successfully runs a night club and also judges a big reality show and since Adi is living a isolated life involving enigma and social serviceKD goes to the extent of provvoking him to start the band again but with out any result. The village were Adi is living suddenly suffers a mishap which forces Adi to go back to Mumbai only to team up with Joe and KD. Adi and team meet Rahul`s sister Shraddha Kapoor which once again makes Adi uncomfortable. On the other hand Adi recieves a call from Shillong which instigates him to go back to Shillong. This annoys his wife Prachi very much and she goes to the extent of filing a divorce . A confusing story in itself, but my question is that what is the issue which forces him to leave Shillong and get back to Mumbai ad vice versa…?…do Ai and and his wife finally get divorced?… and what happens to Shraddha kapoor in the end..? Are Adi, Joe and KD are successful to form the band again?..are they able to perform again? The answers to these questions lies in the film and for that you have to go and watch the movie. Because I am not the one telling the story. I am the one who gives a review on the film.
A quick peek in the film from my point of view. The story I good but the screenplay is monotonous and it is being dragged uneccasarily whch makes the direction rusty and loose. Somewhere director Sujat saudagar has been unsuccessful in making this film a success. On the other hand naming this film an emotional drama film also raises questions. Not to forget the tensed expressions of Arjun Rampal all over the film. This film comprises of two good things and that is Cinematography and locations. Kudos to Mark Konickx on his cinematograhy skills. Over all it is a 2 stars out of 5 from my side.
