Filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon is working with one of the hottest actors of South cinema, Chiyaan Vikram. The duo is working on the film titled, ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’. The shooting for the same is going on in full swing but sadly the team faced issues at Turkey border on Sunday.
Filmmaker Menon on Sunday said he and his crew of his upcoming Tamil film Dhruva Natchathiram are struck at the Turkey border for over 24 hours. Menon explained the situation through his series of tweets.
He wrote, “My film crew stuck at Turkey border. On the road. More than 24 hours now. Officials not letting us in with equipment in spite of legit papers,” Menon tweeted on Sunday.He said they were not able to “meet the demands of the officials”. Crew traveling from Georgia to Istanbul by road. Carrying camera and costumes. Stuck now. At the border,” he added.Despite the challenges, Menon said he would like to shoot in Turkey. “Turkey, we are looking forward to filming in your beautiful country. If anybody that matters is reading this, please help. Worried for my crew.”
When the situation become under control, he has sent out an official statement. The filmmaker visited Turkey last year and fell in love with the place, especially Istanbul- The city. Then he decided to shoot a major portion of his pet project in the city and keeping his words, a year later, he came up with his crew to shoot in Istanbul.
Sadly, he has to face issues while traveling to Georgia to Turkey, where he and his crew struck at the Turkey borders for over 24 hours. The team was not aware of Gautham’s twitter post, through which he was asking for help. His Twitter post finally helped him and that’s when the Turkish airlines stepped and help the crew fly in.
The team is reached safely to Istanbul to shoot their film with the help of Indian agent Flamingo Travel, the Georgian company, and Turkish airlines. The team was shooting in Europe last week for this high-budget spy-thriller film. The film features Ritu Varma and Aishwarya Rajesh as the leading ladies opposite Vikram.
