The second film of the day is Mubarakan, which is a romantic comedy drama movie directed by Anees Bazmee. The plot of the film revolves around twin brothers named Karan and Charan plays by Arjun Kapoor.
After the death of their parents, Karan started living in London with his paternal aunt (Bua) plays by Ratna Pathak Shah and Charan lives in Punjab with his uncle plays by Pawan Malhotra.
They both love two girls, separately, Neha Sharma aka Nafisa Ali and Ileana D’Cruz aka Sweety. But they both didn’t tell their families about their girlfriends. Where, on the other hand, their family wanted Karan to get married to Mr.Gill’s (Rahul Dev) daughter named Binkle plays by Athiya Shetty.
This is the basic game in the film, Karan and Charan got engaged with each other’s girlfriend and then their uncle Kartar Singh aka Anil Kapoor tries to untangle the whole matter.
Now, let’s see the film from my perspective. The plot of the film is bit confusing but the screenplay is really amazing and the film’s dialogue is even more amazing, which is written nicely. Anees Bazme’s direction is surpassing, though at some places movie got dragged, but Anil Kapoor and Pawan Malhotra handles it.
If we talk about acting, this film will only get along because of Anil Kapoor and Pawan Malhotra’s acting and dialogues. Arjun Kapoor has to buck up and needs to diversify his acting. Where Ileana D’Cruz has done a better job than before, Neha Sharma needs to work harder, as she has not left any certain impression and undoubtedly Athiya Shetty has to work harder now, if she wants to make a successful Bollywood career.
Ratna Pathak Shah did a fabulous job as usual and Rahul Dev has also recorded his identity even in a small role, he was given in the movie. Now, let’s talk about songs of the film, there is no song in the movie that will make you humm while coming out from the theatre.
The cinematography is also good, they have captured London so beautifully that you want to go there right at the very moment. Overall the film is a light flowering entertaining film that would be better to watch without implying much of your brain. My rating for this film is 2.5 out of 5.
